We #HonorRBG by speaking up locally and at the federal level

Last night, The Womxn Project hosted a panel of esteemed leaders to talk about how we can all take action where we are to honor the legacy and leadership of Ruth Bader Ginsburg!

There were real gems and very inspiring moments in last night’s panel on “Honoring the Legacy of RBG” featuring Vimala Phongsavanh (Congressional Progressive Caucus Center), Marcela Betancur (RI Latino Policy Institute), Julie Burkhart (Trust Women), Morgan Harper (activist and attorney) and Karen Middleton (Cobalt).  Check out the video to learn more and get inspired to take action to push for positive change in small and large ways to #HonorRGB!

One of the biggest things we can do right now to continue to lead in our own communities to advance reproductive health, rights and just and carry on her legacy is to take action TODAY to protect the Supreme Court.

The US Senate Judiciary committee is trying to jam through the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett.  This would be a threat to LGBT equality, abortion access, disability justice, voting rights and so many important issues.

Senator Dianne Feinstein is the ranking member of the committee. We need her to stand strong against this nominee and this bogus process.  PLEASE HELP US PUSH HER TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND SHUT THIS DOWN!!

PLEASE DO ALL YOU CAN TODAY – even if you just pick one of these actions in solidarity and about our own values. We must protect our rights and our future by protecting the Court, even if it feels hopeless! If everyone does that it is easier in the future to assume apathy.

We will continue to keep you updated and provide info and opportunities to get involved while turning back to Rhode Island too because there will be a lot more work needed at the state level with this new SCOTUS nomination.
