Dawn Euer, this act protects Rhode Island healthcare providers who deliver abortion and reproductive services from out-of-state investigations or lawsuits. Signed into law on May 18, 2023, this act made Rhode Island Medicaid and state employee insurance plans cover abortion care, which removed decades-old financial barriers to access. Sponsored by Rep. Katherine Kazarian and Sen. Bridget Valverde, it helps ensure that low-income and state-covered individuals can access abortion care without out-of-pocket costs.

Passed in June 2022 and sponsored by Rep. Katherine Kazarian and Sen. Dawn Euer, the Let RI Vote Act permanently expanded voting access in Rhode Island by making early voting and no-excuse mail voting permanent, eliminating notarization requirements, and requiring secure ballot drop boxes. By reducing barriers and modernizing voter protections, this law makes it easier and safer for Rhode Islanders to participate in democracy, especially for seniors, people with disabilities, and working families.

Enacted on June 19, 2019, this landmark law codified the right to abortion and reproductive privacy into Rhode Island statute—protecting access prior to fetal viability, repealing partial-birth abortion bans, and removing spousal notification requirements, among other barriers.
