May 14, 2019 || Steve Ahlquist ||| Yesterday the Senate Judiciary Committee rejected Senate Bill 152A Reproductive Health Care Act (RHCA) on a 5-4 vote. The RHCA is a compromise bill that takes its language from the House’s recently passed Reproductive Privacy Act. The bills seek to codify the human rights protections of Roe v Wade into Rhode Island State Law. As abortion foes celebrated, supporters of the legislation began chanting “Shame! Shame! Shame!”
