The Womxn Project held a briefing Tuesday on the bills being considered. Dr. Emily White of Women and Infants Hospital explained why supporters of the bill believe abortion needs to be an option for pregnant women.
“Globally, in areas where women cannot access abortion, about 13 percent die worldwide every year from abortion complications,” White said. “In the United States, that rate is about 0.5 percent.”
