Did you see that hundreds gathered at the Rhode Island State House on Saturday in spite of the cold as part of the national women’s march events? The Womxn Project’s Emily Boucher was there to get the crowd excited about and engaged in our ongoing efforts to build a strong for positive change.
When people are told their insurance program won’t cover an abortion they may forego paying rent or buying groceries. They may ask friends or family to borrow money or go into medical debt. For a health procedure. That is bullshit….All people should be able to decide when to become a parent or add to their family. People can’t do that if we tell them they can only have an abortion if they have money…we can close the gaps in access to the reproductive healthcare that we all deserve.

WE WILL ALWAYS RESIST AND SPEAK OUT FOR CHANGE! JOIN US THIS TUESDAY, JANUARY 22nd TO KEEP BUILDING MOMENTUM FOR POSITIVE CHANGE!
We have been talking to you about our campaign to close the gaps in access to abortion for months now. Well…..we are thrilled to let you know that the bill will be filed this week and that we will are holding an event along with our sponsors, Rep. Liana Cassar and Sen. Bridget Valverde to celebrate this huge step forward and commemorate the 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
We need you there with us! Our team will be there to provide information and support to our volunteers to talk with their lawmakers about supporting the bill to stop the bans on health coverage for abortion. This is your chance to really boost the campaign and make it clear that we intend to not only protect the right to abortion in our state, but also make sure people can afford care!
That is what true access looks like!
