We are so grateful to every person who showed up at a rally this weekend. You can check out more, including watching TWP leaders Tammy Brown, Emma Gauthier and Harshita Ganesh and their powerful remarks via UpriseRI. Special shout out to the lead sponsors for the Equality in Abortion Coverage Act Rep. Liana Cassar and Sen. Bridget Valverde who showed up at multiple events! Nice t-shirts by the way, folks! THURSDAY, MAY 19
BIG thanks also to everyone who made calls and sent emails and showed up at the State House to push for a hearing. WE GOT IT – H7442 will be heard this Thursday, May 19th and we really need you.
- Can you testify? Your testimony can be super short – name and “I am here as a Rhode Island voter to express my support of H7442, the Equality in Abortion Coverage Act. We should make sure the right to abortion is not taken away just because someone uses the state employee plan or Medicaid benefits to get care. Please, vote yes.” Click here to sign-up to get info and make the commitment to be there.
- Will you show up in support (don’t have to speak)? We need a strong, visible presence of support, we need you. The opposition is actively recruiting folks. We have to show up in FORCE! Click here to say “count me in” – and hey, think about bringing a few friends with you!
- Can’t be there? That’s ok! We all have a role to play. Click here if you are willing to help take action this week from home or in your spare time.
We all have a role to play and after WEEKS of calling and emailing and lobbying to FINALLY get a hearing, we need you.
Do whatever you can. We need you! We will continue to share ideas and ways to help. We are in this together!
PSST: SUPER EASY – you could email the entire committee with “FOR H7442” in the subject and tell them,”I am a Rhode Island voter. I am writing to say I support the Equality in Abortion Coverage Act. Please, vote yes.”
