In Conversation: The State of Bodily Freedom, Midterm 2026 Edition
Providence, RI: The Womxn Project Education Fund (TWPef) is sponsoring a conversation about what the recent midterm election results mean for bodily freedom, from your school committee to the RI State House to the U.S. Capitol. Congressman Gabo Amo will provide insight from the federal level. Executive Director of RI Center for Justice, Jennifer Wood, Esq, will be speaking about the local level, and Bill Bartholomew, noted journalist and broadcaster, about the state level. Gayle Goldin, Executive Director of Family Values @ Work and former RI State Senator, will moderate.
Jocelyn Foye, Executive Director of The Womxn Project Education Fund, stressed that “Bodily Freedom is on the ballot from Westerly to Woonsocket, Burrillville to Little Compton, and across the country. Join us after the vote to hear how your rights to bodily freedom will be impacted.”
“The headlines around elections are almost always about the national elections, but the impact on your life is often greatest at the state and local levels, so this discussion is of significance to everyone in Rhode Island.” Foye pointed out. “Our organization will continue to defend reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights across the state, as they are always, as we have seen, at risk.”
Please RSVP to reserve your seat at The State of Bodily Freedom 2026 at the CMW Center, 1326 Westminster St, PVD. There is a suggested donation of $35, but no one will be turned away. Get tickets here.
The Womxn Project Education Fund is a RI 501(c)3 that uses civic engagement, policy advancement, and activism to take action to secure reproductive freedom, gender equity, and LGBTQ+ rights in Rhode Island.,
