This coming January 21st, the Woman Project and her network is putting on a SECOND Sewing Bee to prepare our “Quilt 2.0” for the opening of the State’s session this coming end of January.
Quilters and non-quilters alike (all ages too), please join us for a post Christmas, pre- New Years celebration of women’s rights at the Unitarian Univeralists Congregation of South County from 10-4pm (at any time) to help build this quilt that is starting out with 600+ squares… and will grow as we get more signatures all year long!

General Questions & Answers surrounding this event:
Q: What time is the event and where is it?
A: The Bee will happen this Saturday December 30th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. It will happen at the UUCSC in Peace Dale, RI. (27 North Rd, Peace Dale, Rhode Island 02879) The UU is generously donating the space for us to use as well as a small lunch for participants to enjoy! YUM!
Q: Do I need to be there for the entire time?
A: Nope; come for however long you like!
Q: Can I still participate even if I don’t know how to quilt or sew?
A: Yes! We’ll be needing people to pin fabric, iron squares, cut more material, catalog the signatures into a spreadsheet, and document the entire experience with photographa and videos for social media.
Q: What supplies should I bring with me?
A: Quilters are asked to bring any and all supplies they are able to transport and willing to use. We will have a very limited number of extra sewing machines available, so if you can bring your own that would be extreme helpful!
We will have thread, scissors, batting, fabric, a rotary cutter and mat, and some rulers.
Other supplies that maybe helpful: irons, ironing boards, and cotton fabric that you would like to donate to be cut into future signature squares.
Q: Will this event be family friendly?
A: Yes, however we will not be staffing the event with a designated baby sitter, so it’s best to bring children with activities for them to enjoy!
Q: I can’t make it, but I still want to help! What can I do???
A: No problem; there are lots of things you can still do to help!!
