Our internal team and over 75 volunteers all over the state work together to:

• send a two-question survey directly to all candidates
  
  
• deep dive into public online resources (including candidates' social media and prior public statements)
  
  
• research candidates' voting record on the two components of the BFFI (reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ rights)
  
  
• reach out to each candidate to with the results of our research and provide them an opportunity to change their stance.

The Womxn Project developed the BFFI at a time when bodily freedom was coming under direct attack in the United States, and today multiple national groups continue to work against rights of all kinds. At this moment, we believe that many of the bodily freedoms most in danger fall into the categories of reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights.

TWP recognizes that anyone in elected office may have the opportunity, directly or indirectly, impede the right to bodily freedom, so we created the BFFI as a tool for voters to assess where folks running for or in office stand on these two core components of bodily freedom.
