Some quick highlights heading into your weekend!
ACLU & RPA
Earlier this week, the RI ACLU sent this letter to the Department of Corrections with the first formal invocation of the RPA to seek a change in state policy – which never should have existed in the first place. It questions the practices governing prenatal care and nutrition for incarcerated pregnant inmates. Without your hard work to change this law these changes would not be as easily called into question. Thank you to you and the RI ACLU.
How to Show Up for the Reproductive Justice Movement
The Womxn Project (TWP) is committed to advancing the principles of reproductive justice, which demands that we all have the right to determine when and how we build our relationships, families and futures and that we have the ability to live and raise our children with dignity.
In order to create a future where we can all live with health and dignity and to seek not just rights, but liberation we must understand what it looks like to truly show up for reproductive justice! Educator and activist, Tiara Mack is partnering with TWP to present a workshop on “How to Show Up for Reproductive Justice” tomorrow, Saturday, February 22nd from 10am-4pm at the Bell Street Chapel (5 Bell St, Providence).
