“Here’s to the future because we got through the past.” – Salt-N-Pepa
What does 2021 hold for The Womxn Project? Broadly, we intend to mobilize, energize, and lead! Here’s just a taste of what to expect from us:
-
Insurance coverage bans for abortion services are soooo 2020 (you know, tragic and synonymous with racial injustice). We want to close the gaps in access to abortion and intend to lead an ambitious campaign to support the Equality in Abortion Coverage Act, a Rhode Island bill that would expand Medicaid to cover abortion;
-
There is no reproductive justice without racial justice. Marrying art and activism in our bold TWP way, we will continue push for racial justice and amplify the voices of Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Color;
-
Fake abortion clinics (aka, Crisis Pregnancy Centers) grossly outnumber legitimate sexual and reproductive health clinics in Rhode Island. We will pursue efforts to hold these fake clinics accountable.
-
TWP won’t let the rights we have already secured be diminished. We will fight any challenge to the Reproductive Privacy Act of 2019.
