We’ve got a new fundraiser happening next month and we’re hyped!!!
Opening: Friday, February 9, 2024, 5-8pm

Here’s what we did:
We called a bunch of our art-loving friends who have an eye for the aesthetic and asked them to call their artist friends – known and not-yet-known – from across the country. Our artistic curators asked their artist friends to create a postcard-size piece of original art on the theme “Advocacy Is Love.” And those resulting works will be part of an art exhibition and sale that will support our 2024 programming.
Here’s where you come in:
Come to our project space for the opening on February 9 at 5pm. Grab a drink and a snack, take in the anonymously displayed art, and decide what you want to purchase. But don’t think too long because the purchasing process is going to be competitive. Wha?!
The competition:
Each piece of art will be sold for $35, but when you make a purchase, instead of getting the art, you’ll get a number that will be put in a pot of numbers. Our emcee will call out each number as they pull it out of a bag randomly, and when your number is called, the purchasers can select their piece of art.
It’s like a Sotheby’s auction and a white elephant event had a baby. Once your art is in your hands, flip it over to see the artist’s name and maybe a personal message. It might be by your neighbor. It might be by a well-known artist from the West Coast, Spain, or right here in Rhode Island.
Can’t make the opening? That’s ok, more art is arriving AFTER the this date and we will be having gallery hours. See details on the event page.

Since the summer, we’ve been promising to answer your call for greater community with more events, and we’re ready to deliver! If you can’t make our February 9 fundraiser, come to one of our other planned events. There are more to come!
For those of you asking why not a lot of policy news yet? We promise, it is in the works with the new session just starting here in RI. Our special sauce will be layered in and we are organizing in towns too.

Join us at our Roe Unniversary Thank You Lobby Day.
While January 22 is the anniversary in which the Roe v. Wade decision was made, we are holding a thank you flower and card handout to RI General assembly members that next day session is happening. We need your help handing out paper flower and thank you notes. More

Become an effective advocate around LGBTQ+ equality in government and policy! This 1.5 hour event in the Providence area will be co-sponsored with a few other orgs and announced shortly.
> Show up for Lobby Days:
The 2024 legislative session is underway. Join us every other Tuesday at the State House from 3:15 to 4:15 for reproductive, gender, and voting rights lobbying days. This is a low-pressure way to get involved in local politics, demystify the State House, and make your voice heard! RSVP strongly suggested.
