Last night’s debate is not sitting well with me.
A second Trump term will be a catastrophe for our rights.
But despite Biden’s poor performance, our community’s role is to continue to remind people that a second Trump presidency would be disastrous for all our bodily freedom and democracy.
Remember, while we are distracted with the national elections, the MAGA clan is making a run for your school committee and your town council. For example, this summer a group the Southern Poverty Law Center calls extremists is approaching every school committee in RI to present an anti-trans student policy, and their tactic is gaining momentum.
We can’t lose sight of local elections right now.
Today the nation’s focus is understandably turned to the national stage, but small races are just as important, if not more important, for the issues that directly impact those living within Rhode Island’s borders.
