Whew, we are blown away by your support. Let’s now harness that joy and energy as we head into a Spring and Summer that requires us all to get active and be more out on the streets to tell our government we are not going away and believe in defending Medicaid (so abortion, gender affirming care and thousands of other forms of healthcare remain accessible to all).

School committees continue to be at the forefront of the Bodily Freedom Forever Index (BFFI) agenda.
The Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL), (governs Middle and HS sports) suddenly and without notice rescinded its well-written trans-inclusive athlete policy and now requires individual principals to decide on the eligibility of gender diverse students. We have seen this done before in our state, with sex education. Activists stood up for trans students at the 3.24.25 meeting in Warwick and not only were we there but TWP has been at these meetings as the only community member for the last four months.
What happened was shocking. Behind closed doors, which is being considered a possible act of illegality, they changed the policy and offered no public comment. The only way they said a change can happen is through individual principles acting. Read more details.
ACTION ALERT!
(This is where you come in.)
Please contact (email, call) your local Middle School Principal and local High School Principal and say,
“The Rhode Island Interscholastic League says you, Principal, are now responsible for deciding that gender diverse students can participate on the sports team of their choice. I demand you respect their choices! I demand that you put this on the next RIIL agenda”.
This will both likely surprise and concern them. If every principal in RI gets 5 messages or emails, this pressure will impact RIIL with the hope to reverse that position. It is time for bold action. Please help today.
An Advocacy is Love THANK YOU .. and it continues! On behalf of The Womxn Project Education Board Members, we are so grateful to all of the artists who donated pieces and those who came out to support us at our “Advocacy is Love” event.
We are so appreciative of the energy that you all brought, and humbled by the hundreds of people who came to stand together to continue advocating and supporting our work.
But of course, our work is not done. This coming week is Rhode Island’s non-profit day of giving called 401Gives. So for those who missed Advocacy is Love, we are using this next day of giving as a way to still be involved in Advocacy is Love too!
For every donation given in $50 increments, TWP will send you a piece of art as a thank you from Advocacy is Love. Stay tuned as we get closer to the event!

This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies.
Additionally, we call on Rhode Island officials at the State level to not cut Medicaid and keep our people safe. Medicaid is a lifeline to a huge population of Rhode Islanders.
On this day of action, join us in the parade!
1. Help us at the march. Hold one of our banners or letters that say BODILY FREEDOM. Or get an individual sign to hold. If you help us out, we will give you a free shirt. Sign Up with TWP
2. Buy a Bodily Freedom Forever shirt and wear it proudly.
3. We encourage you to wear a bandana for some coverup and safety, preferably rainbow or the international movement green for abortion access.
4. If a big march is not your speed, join us in the evening for a projection on the State House at 7pm on the mall side in collaboration with this day. RSVP here
