The 2026 legislative session just ended and they did not pass the RI Voting Rights Act. For more than 8 months we have been reaching out asking for our elected officials to advocate for this bill and stand up for the most basic of human rights.
Even though it did not pass, we are not budging. We have a chance to write our elected officials as we go into a mid-term Primary election and ask people if they will defend this bill on the floor if they win in 2027 with haste.
So join us in reaching out to your current representative and Senator and keep the topic on the top of their mind and their campaigns this Summer and Fall of 2026.

I am a Rhode Island resident and I am asking that you do not lose sight of the Rhode Island Voting Rights Act through this mid-term election.
I am upset it was not voted into law this past legislative session and hope you will use your strengths in leadership to make sure it is a primary priority this coming 2027 session.
After the Supreme Court of the US voted to approve the Alabama maps for redistricting in June 2026, we saw the final destruction of the national VRA. Rhode Islander have a change to protect them. Please make this happen as soon as session begins in 2027.
