BREAKING NEWS!!!
“An enormous amount of hard, legal work went into this process from the beginning when the RI Senate leadership dropped the ball to recent planning for next steps if SCOTUS voted in favor of the Republican National Committee and the RI State GOP Committee. But they didn’t. In a 6-3 vote, the Supreme Court of the United States voted in favor of allowing Rhode Island voters to submit mail in ballots without notarization or witness signatures!!!. Please see the order below. I am thrilled. It is important to recognize the incredibly hard and diligent work by the RI ACLU and Common Cause of RI and ultimately the legal teams of the Secretary of State and the State Board of elections throughout this 2-1/2 week debacle. Good news, ballots are being mailed beginning today!” – Deb Kopech reporting for the TWP Education Fund board.
In other current policy news, The Womxn Project is proud to join partners from across the country in calling on federal lawmakers to take action to eliminate the laws that deny insurance benefits for abortion or make care harder to get.
We know that people struggling to make ends meet and Black, Indigenous and other people of color are hurt most by these shameful polices.
Call our federal lawmakers (202-224-3121) to urge them to: Support the Women’s Health Protection Act to get rid of medically unnecessary restrictions and the EACH Woman Act to halt the denial of health coverage for abortion!
We must also lay the ground work to get rid of laws that put up extra barriers for young people’s access. Together we can close the gaps to ensure #AbortionAccess4All.
