Yesterday was Trans Day of Visibility and our launch of the public art intervention of our Hate Has No Place Here yard signs as well as free multilingual posters. Today, we’re turning our focus to 401Gives in an effort to raise the funds that will sustain our work for upholding abortion access and reproductive rights in Rhode Island while securing transgender and gender diverse protections under the important and expansive theme of BODILY AUTONOMY.
Around 250 signs out now and we want to get another 250 placed before the end of April!
We’re excited that signs are posted in Arkansas, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Jersey so sharing out of state is VERY WELCOME. (**Out of state friends- we made a cheaper way to do this too. Email us and we’ll send you the hand held signs in English and Spanish as shown by our friends at Central Falls High School.)
And while it is a launch, this is only the beginning. It is important we have these up all election season to show inclusive policies are important and celebrated. Accessible healthcare is fundamental to our democracy and everyone providing it, as well as everyone receiving it, should feel seen, protected, and cared for with dignity.
