3 Activist Actions from ANYWHERE (jump in with us!)

We talk about activism as a team sport – meaning that we are in it together. But it is also very personal for a lot of us – a way to not only give back to the community and push for what we believe in, but also a way to feel like in spite of all the challenges and injustice that we can do something about it! We CAN make a difference!

So let’s talk about a few opportunities to jump in with us coming up soon:

TODAY! Let RI Vote in 2022 Campaign Launch

In 2022 we are taking action to improve voting access in Rhode Island! Will you be with us? Join our 30+ coalition partners online this Tuesday 1/25 at 3pm for the Let RI Vote 2022 Launch! #LETRIVOTE

The great news is that the new bills in the House (H-7100) and Senate (S-2007) both known as the Let RI Vote Act are supported by multiple sponsors as well as other legislators not listed as sponsors. But the support of voters is imperative to ensure a swift series of committee hearings and a floor vote in each house. The goal of the 30+member coalition of state-wide organizations is to have this bill passed by the end of March to ensure that changes to voting access are ready for the 2022 election.

But our work is not done yet.

Start by watching this introduction by the bill sponsors, Rep Katherine Kazarian and Senator Dawn Euer on Tuesday at 3:00 pm. (No need to have a Facebook account.)
Then visit https://letrivote.org/
- to see all of the organizations who stand with the sponsors to ensure that voters in Rhode Island have access to vote by mail, in person early, or on the designated election day based on their lives, without the need for a reason. )
- to link to the bills (you only need to read one – they are identical
- and ultimately to take action in the form of emails your reps and senators (samples and information will be posted shortly) , and to testify at the committee hearings when they are scheduled.
